The Mealtime Partner uses a custom made (latex free) shatterproof spoon that is attached to the Spoon Shaft using a thumbscrew to fix it firmly to the shaft. The spoon is made of polycarbonate that is a very durable material that will not shatter. Not only is it unbreakable but the material is yielding when bitten. This protects the user’s lips and teeth from discomfort or injury while eating. This enables individuals with a bite reflex to eat from the spoon without risk of damage to their teeth.
The Mealtime Partner Spoons are made of a polycarbonate plastic, LexanTM , and is shatterproof. Lexan is FDA approved for use with food and is dishwasher and microwave safe.
