The Mealtime Partner Support Arm - $529.95

 Support Arm

The most versatile method of positioning the Mealtime Partner for the most difficult seating arrangement, is to use the Support Arm.

The Support Arm allows the Mealtime Partner Dining System to be accessed by individuals who have extremely limited range of motion. In fact, with the device mounted on the Support Arm, a user can eat from it with only 1.5 inches of forward head or upper trunk movement because it allows for positioning the spoon very close to the user’s mouth. It also makes the Partner accessible to those who sit in powered wheelchairs that, because of its size, cannot be positioned very close to a table; or wheelchairs that have controls mounted in front of the wheelchair arm that prohibit the chair from getting close to a table. Also, for those who require a laptray on their wheelchair, the Support Arm allows the Mealtime Partner to reach the user despite the laptray.

The Support Arm must be used with the Mealtime Partner Table Clamp. The Clamp is attached to a table-top and the tapered clamp shaft is seated in the Table Clamp socket. Once the Clamp Shaft is positioned in the socket, the Lock Knob on the back of the Clamp should be tightened, and then backed out 1/4 turn. This will engage the Lock Knob into a notch on the Shaft so that the Support Arm will not be able to be removed from the Clamp, but will still be able to rotate. The same locking mechanism is used when the Rotation Shaft at the top of the Support Arm, is engaged with the socket on the base of the Mealtime Partner. For more information about mounting and positioning the Mealtime Partner using the Support Arm, it is recommended that the following Instructional Video Segment 3: Mounting, be viewed.
