The Adaptive Switch Mounting Lap Tray Sitting on Lady's Lap

The Adaptive Switch Mounting Lap Tray provides a solid surface to which adaptive switches can be attached for user’s who wish to activate their switches with their hand/s or fingers. Velcro covers the surface of the lap tray allowing switches to be positioned anywhere on the surface. The switches can easily and quickly be repositioned as needed.

The lap tray has two bean bag tubes on its underside that allow it to rests on the user’s knees when they are sitting in their wheelchair. Almost everyone using the lap tray finds that it remains comfortably on their thighs without slipping or moving. However, for those who find that it slips a Velcro strap is provided with the lap tray. The strap is attached to the underside of the lap tray between the two bean bag tubes and extends out from the sides of the tray. The ends of the straps can be attached to the sides of the wheelchair with Velcro patches that are also provided.

The top of the lap tray can be raised, which provides a wedged shaped surface for switch mounting. Six different levels are available allowing the angle at which the switches are presented to meet the needs of a wide variety of user requirements. Having switches mounted at an angle allows the user to activate the switch by sliding their hand, knuckle, or finger-tip, into the switch rather than lifting their hand off of the surface of the lap tray to touch the top of the switch.

The lap tray also has a one inch deep flip up lip that can be opened to support a telephone or tablet.
