Micro Light Adaptive Switch Mounting Plate Kit - Components

The Micro Light Adaptive Switch Mounting Plate Kit provides all of the parts required to attach a Micro Light Adaptive Switch to the Mealtime Partners Flex Arm Mounting Systems. The kit includes the Micro Light Switch Mounting Plate, two button-head hex screws and two hex wrenches for tightening the screws, as pictured above.

The first step in installing a Micro Light Switch is to attach the Mounting Plate to the ball and socket end of the Flex Arm Mounting System using the 1/4"-20, 3/4" long screw provided in the kit. A 5/32" hex wrench is provided in the kit to accomplish this task. Tighten the screw firmly so that it will not easily be unscrewed.

Next,  position the Micro Light Switch into the inset area of the mounting plate and attach it to the mounting plate using the 3/8" long #4-40 button-head hex screw in the kit. (A 1/16" hex wrench is included in the kit for this purpose.)

The other end of the Flex Arm Mounting System that is being used can the be inserted into the small socket of the Wheelchair Clamp. Next, attach the Wheelchair Clamp to the wheelchair.

Below is an example of a micro light adaptive switch being used for head control when mounted on a wheelchair handle. Three Mealtime Partners parts are required: Part # 6564, the Micro Light Adaptive Switch; Part # 5106, the Flex Arm Mounting System with 6-Inch Flex Arm; and, Part # 5140, the Micro Light Adaptive Switch Mounting Plate Kit, shown on this page. Optionally, a longer flex arm can be used and the wheelchair clamp attached to other locations on the wheelchair.
